Lagos distributes ₦6B Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme to 123,314 Vulnerable Households

The Lagos State Government, through the State Cash Transfer Unit of the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, has said that over ₦6 billion have been disbursed to 123,314 vulnerable households across the State under the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, the initiative is part of efforts to strengthen the implementation of the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer programme in Lagos. The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025, as a public holiday in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. This announcement follows the ongoing seven-day national mourning period declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, noting that the holiday serves as a mark of respect for Buhari’s service and contributions to Nigeria’s democracy and national development. “President Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria with dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of our great nation,” Tunji-Ojo said.
