The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has praised the appointment of Mr. Olatunji Disu as the acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu. The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025, as a public holiday in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. This announcement follows the ongoing seven-day national mourning period declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, noting that the holiday serves as a mark of respect for Buhari’s service and contributions to Nigeria’s democracy and national development. “President Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria with dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of our great nation,” Tunji-Ojo said. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has firmly dismissed concerns that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is steering Nigeria toward a one-party state, calling such fears "unfounded" and "rooted in panic, not fact." No Discord: Sanwo-Olu Reaffirms Unity in Warm Visit To Tinubu

In a display of mutual respect and camaraderie, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State has dismissed any notion of discord between himself and his long-time mentor and leader, President Bola Tinubu during a cordial visit that took place at the President's Lagos resident -  Bourdillon in Ikoyi, earlier today. Sanwo-Olu made the visit with the Lagos APC Governance Advisory Council, GAC.  While fielding questions from reporters, he said "Did you see any discord? That's what we need you to clarify.
