2027 Governorship Election: Sanwo-Olu receives His Deputy, Dr Hamzat on Consultation Visit

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu received his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat who have been on a consultation train on his governorship ambition for the 2027 election.  Dr Hamzat is hoping to clinch his party's governorship ticket for the next general elections. Atiku Officially Bows Out of PDP, Says Party Has Lost Its Way

Former Vice President of Nigeria and founding member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has officially resigned from the party, citing deep concerns over its current direction. In a letter posted on the X-platform by Atiku’s Media Adviser, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in J ada 1 Ward, Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, the ex-vice president  announced his immediate withdrawal from the party, ending a decades-long relationship that began with the PDP’s formation in the late 1990s. “I am writing to formally resign my membership from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect,” he stated. No Discord: Sanwo-Olu Reaffirms Unity in Warm Visit To Tinubu

In a display of mutual respect and camaraderie, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State has dismissed any notion of discord between himself and his long-time mentor and leader, President Bola Tinubu during a cordial visit that took place at the President's Lagos resident -  Bourdillon in Ikoyi, earlier today. Sanwo-Olu made the visit with the Lagos APC Governance Advisory Council, GAC.  While fielding questions from reporters, he said "Did you see any discord? That's what we need you to clarify. "Can't you see, you're smiling, I'm smiling. There's none." The visit, described as warm and friendly, aimed to reaffirm the strong personal and political ties between the two.
