Lagos Unveils Reconstruction of Ladoke Akintola, Other Ikeja GRA Roads

  The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to urban renewal with plans to rehabilitate and upgrade major road networks in Ikeja Government Reserved Area (GRA), including Ladoke Akintola Road, Oladipo Bateye/Tayo Ayeni/Adetunji Adeoba roads, and the Sowemimo corridor. As part of preparations for the projects, the Office of Infrastructure in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure held a stakeholders' engagement meeting with residents and other affected parties to discuss the scope of work, expected benefits, and possible disruptions during construction. A union of civil society groups - Coalition for Good Governance, CGG on Wednesday, has urged the Lagos State Government not to reverse the ongoing clearance of buildings erected under high-tension power lines in Makoko, while calling for immediate implementation of a  comprehensive development plan for the waterfront community.
