The Lagos State Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Sam Egube will on Saturday be honoured with an 'Outstanding Leader' award by the Urhobo and Isoko Elites in Lagos. Sanwo-Olu Orders Immediate Waste Evacuation as Lagos Battles Refuse Backlog

Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.  Residents of Lagos have recently voiced concerns over the growing heaps of refuse in some parts of the state. In response, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered an immediate scale-up of waste evacuation operations, assuring Lagosians that the situation is being addressed with urgency and determination. Lagos Tops as Nigeria's Best-Performing Sub-National in State Performance Index Ratings

Lagos State has emerged Nigeria’s best-performing sub-national in the 2025 State Performance Index (pSPI), leading other states by wide margins across all sectors. This was revealed in the latest ranking released by Phillips Consulting Limited, Nigeria’s leading business and management consulting firm, Lagos is ranked number one  in the National Assessment Report out of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja in the Overall pSPI Rank, based on continued strength across key governance and economic indicators. The 2025 State Performance Index (pSPI) identifies Lagos as Top Revenue Performer, stating that "Lagos ranks 1st in IGR per capita, per km², and per trade route." It also ranked Lagos as second in internet penetration and digital access. The report rates Lagos positively in High Financial Independence, stating that "69 per cent of Lagos State’s revenue comes from IGR, significantly higher than the national average of 18 per cent, reducing rel...

The Lagos State Government says it has expanded office accommodation for public servants by an additional 19,525 square metres to improve operational efficiency, enhance service delivery, and reduce reliance on rented office spaces. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hailed the status of the Lagos State University, LASU as the top choice university in Nigeria, revealed in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) rankings. Sanwo-Olu described the feat as a reflection of the state government’s sustained investment in quality education and institutional development. Lagos Red Line Rail may extend to Ogun, targets 500,000 Passengers Daily

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has disclosed that talks are ongoing to extend the Red Line Rail network to neighbouring communities in Ogun State to accommodate more commuters. Governor of Lagos State, M.r Babajide Sanwo-Olu Sanwo-Olu said the acquisition of 24 new coaches for the Red Line Rail by the Lagos State Government in China will enhance the multimodal transportation system. Speaking during an interview with State House correspondents at the Lagos House, Marina, on Wednesday, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the new trains on the Red Line will have eight cars as a gainst the four cars currently being used on blue line.
