CreditPRO launches #EndPlasticPollution Campaign to Promote cleaner, safer Lagos


A Finance firm in Lagos - CreditPRO, has light up Lagos with its environmental sustainability initiative with the launch of #EndPlasticPollution Campaign, a community-driven platform designed to promote responsible plastic waste management and greener living across the State.

The firm asserted its commitment to Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs with the official launch of #EndPlasticPollution Campaign at the weekend, held at the Chief Anthony Enahoro Housing Estate, Ogba in Lagos.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and the Office of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) endorsed the campaign and commended CreditPRO for its drive in ensuring a cleaner and safer Lagos.

During the inauguration of the initiative, CreditPRO donated plastic collection bins to selected communities, including Chief Anthony Enahoro Housing Estates and George Crescent Estate in Ogba, marking the citywide rollout aimed at encouraging waste segregation and recycling at the community level.

Speaking at the launch, CreditPRO’s Managing Director, Dr. Sola Adeyiga, said the initiative underscores the company’s belief that business continuity and environmental responsibility are inseparable.

“The going concern of a business is not guaranteed without a healthy and sustainable environment. This is more than CSR; it’s a purpose” Adeyiga said.

Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, represented by her Technical Special Assistant, Mr. Michael Folorunsho, applauded the initiative as “timely and commendable,” noting that it aligns with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and supports Lagos State’s vision for a cleaner, more resilient environment.

In her remarks, Director of Partnership, Grant Management and Innovation at Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Mrs. Olabisi Shonibare, lauded the initiative, describing plastic pollution as one of Lagos State’s most pressing environmental challenges.

She urged more private sector organizations to emulate CreditPRO’s leadership in advancing sustainable environmental practices.

CreditPRO Head of Growth and Customer Experience, Mr. Tony Jiboye, explained that the #EndPlasticPollution Campaign will focus on three key areas: the provision of plastic collection bins to gated estates across Lagos State; continuous advocacy and public education to promote proper plastic disposal among residents, and the empowerment of small businesses developing innovative environmental solutions through targeted grants and mentorship opportunities.
