Ambode Crushes Governorship Rumour under ADC

Former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has publicly declared his unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and reaffirmed his commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement personally signed and dated August 9, 2025, Ambode described President Tinubu as his “leader, mentor, and a tireless champion for Nigeria’s progress,” stressing that nothing will distract him from working towards Tinubu’s victory in 2027.

“My dedication to his vision and aspirations for our nation is total. I have been working diligently to advance his programmes and strengthen our great party. Nothing will distract me from this mission,” Ambode stated.

The former governor praised President Tinubu as a goal-driven, result-oriented leader who has created opportunities for Nigerians—especially the youth—through reforms that benefit pensioners, improve access to student loans, and open platforms for young leaders to emerge.

Ambode also pointed to Tinubu’s efforts in addressing fuel scarcity, enhancing security measures, and introducing policies that “directly touch the lives of ordinary citizens,” saying Nigerians would have even greater reasons to celebrate if given another four years.

Addressing Rumours and Political Speculation

Ambode dismissed recent publications alleging that he harbours governorship ambitions under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing them as false and politically motivated distractions.

“Such things are not unusual in politics, and I remain unperturbed. My focus is on the bigger picture: the success of President Tinubu’s administration and the continued progress of Nigeria under the APC,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to focus on unity and progress rather than speculation, adding that he expects more of such distractions as the 2027 elections draw closer.

Ambode reiterated his solidarity with President Tinubu and the APC, assuring party members and supporters that he will work tirelessly to secure a resounding victory in 2027.

“We will work together to ensure victory in 2027 to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians.”
