CITN HONOURS OKUNADE WITH ‘OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO TAX PROFESSION’ AWARD

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN in an evening filled with camaraderie and glamour at her 2025 annual Dinner and Awards, recognised noble tax professionals and accountants, as well as deserving public officials.

Amongst the recognised experts is Mr. Olusesan Okunade - a seasoned Tax professional, Chartered Accountant and Policy Affairs Analyst, was bestowed with an award of ‘Outstanding Contributions to Tax profession’ (Individual category).

Okunade, on Saturday received the Award amidst the glitz at the CITN event, graced by Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmad Sokoto as the Distinguished Guest of Honour and chaired by the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, held at the High Points Event Centre and Suites in Alausa, Ikeja.


 Recipient of CITN ‘Outstanding Contributions to Tax profession’ (Individual category), Mr. Olusesan Okunade and his spouse,  Mrs Oyebukola Okunade, FCA, during the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN 2025 annual Dinner and Awards, at the High Points Event Centre and Suites in Alausa, Ikeja.


Mr. Okunade, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, FCA; Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, FCTI and FICA, receiving his award expressed his appreciation to God, his spouse, associates and the CITN.

He has since been receiving commendations and congratulatory messages and celebrated by family, friends and associates.

Speaking at the event, the 17th President of CITN, Mr. Innocent Ohagwa, stated that the high point of the event was the award ceremony labelling it as ‘particularly remarkable’.

While commending the Council of the Institute for rewarding and sustaining the awards to stakeholders, the CITN President applauded the awardees, “I congratulate the recipients of our prestigious awards for contributing their invaluable quota to the development and sustenance of our institute and the Nigerian Tax system,” he said.

In her welcome address, Chairman of the Social Committee, CITN, Mrs. Ezinwa Okoroafor noted that the event depicts celebration of excellence, resilience and transformative power of the tax players in shaping the country’s economic future.

Okoroafor appreciated H.E Akinwunmi Ambode for his kindness and support especially towards the female of the institute – the Society of Women in Taxation and applauded the CITN president for ‘his visionary leadership and unwavering support.’

The event was witnessed by the crème-de-la-crème of the accounting and taxation profession, as well as the banking industry players including the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr. Zacch Adedeji and Chairman, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele; Founder, Rusa Advisory, Mr. Uyi Akpata and Managing Consultant and Co-founder of Kreston Pedabo, Albert Folorunsho, all as Guests of Honour, amongst others.

  1. This an overwhelming event, honestly there's no hidden place for a golden fish neither do a good one can be unnoticed, your commitment to all you do pays off.
    As an individual you are capable likewise as a team leader or member you are an achiever, Easy as fondly called by me, this is another colourful feather to your cap, you burst my bubble,
    Ride on a wonderful husband and father, despite your schedules as a public man , you still consider your home as a priority, your in-laws sight you oo.
