Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Maryam Lawal, an exceptional graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), for emerging as the Best Graduating Female Student and Second Overall Best Graduating Student at the Nigerian Law School.

Lawal, a proud Lagosian and alumna of LASU’s Faculty of Law (Common and Islamic Law), stood out among 7,134 candidates during the recent Call to Bar ceremony held on July 10 in Abuja. Her stellar performance earned her eight prestigious awards, including the prize for Best Student in Corporate Law Practice.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who also serves as the Visitor to LASU, praised Lawal's academic feat as a reflection of the university’s enduring standard of excellence.

Lawal’s extraordinary accomplishment at the Nigerian Law School has once again affirmed Lagos State University's reputation for producing outstanding graduates in different professions,” Sanwo-Olu said. “She represents the very best of what our institutions can produce.”

The Governor described Lawal as a symbol of excellence and a worthy ambassador of both LASU and Lagos State on the national stage.

Her achievement further reinforces LASU’s reputation as a breeding ground for academic and professional excellence across disciplines.
