Arsenal make Formal Move for Leipzig Star, Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal have officially contacted RB Leipzig to explore a potential summer transfer for their Slovenian striker, Benjamin Sesko, According to Sky Sports News.
The Gunners are actively assessing several striker options ahead of the new season, with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres also under consideration. While no formal bids have been submitted, Arsenal are carrying out due diligence on multiple targets as they look to bolster their attacking line.
Sesko, who netted 21 goals and provided six assists across all competitions last season—including four in the Champions League—has long been on Arsenal’s radar. The North London club showed serious interest in the Slovenian international in both the previous summer and January windows.
In January, however, a move was ruled out by Sesko’s agent, citing a gentleman’s agreement to remain with Leipzig until the end of the current season. Despite signing a contract extension with Leipzig last summer that runs until 2029, the German side are now open to letting him leave after missing out on Champions League qualification.
With their longstanding interest and Leipzig’s changing stance, Arsenal may now have a clear path to pursue one of Europe’s most promising young forwards but time will tell if the Gunners will get the striker.
